New Hampton dropped a hotly contested league matchup at home on Friday night, falling to Brewster 78-68. After a back and forth first twelve minutes, Brewster used a 9-0 spurt to gain some distance head into the half up 41-31. The Huskies came out strong in the second frame, pulling to within four, until another big Brewster run allowed the visiting Bobcats to open up a 68-52 with seven minutes left. Undeterred, the Huskies battled back, clawing to within four at 71-67 with two minutes remaining. However, key buckets by the Bobcats coupled with some untimely misses allowed Brewster to prevail. The Huskies were led by Tyler Lydon '15 (Elisaville, NY) and AJ Turner '15 (New Haven, MI) with 14 points, while John Crosby '15 (Baltimore, MD) added 13, including multiple key buckets during the Huskies comeback. Next up for New Hampton is a 3:30 date on Sunday with St. Andrew's (RI) as part of the Hoophall Tournament in Springfield, MA at Springfield College.
