For one hour during a special school meeting on Monday, the NHS community absorbed, reflected, and celebrated the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. and his effect on individual Human Rights. But the action did not end when everyone walked out of McEvoy Theater after a moment of silence. Dorm meetings on Tuesday focused on behaviors and attitudes and allowed residents to share their concerns about human rights and the way that we all interact.
Monday's celebration included musical performances, remarks from Mr. Menke, Voices of New Hampton Students: quotations from students' "Dear Dr. King" letters, and student reflections on MLK's essay, "The World House."
