Project Week

Beyond the Classroom

Project Week models our belief that sometimes the most valuable learning occurs beyond the typical classroom's walls. Students and faculty work together each year to create a new and exciting lineup of projects.

Come spring, the whole school takes a respite from our typical academic schedule and travels near and far in small groups for a week of investigation, often leading to transformative, thought-provoking experiences that help to shape each individual student's worldview.

Project Week 2024-2025

This year, students embarked on incredible journeys, from exploring the Blue Zones of Costa Rica and the Peace Line of Northern Ireland to a service adventure in Peru. Closer to home, groups mastered the art of glass blowing, learned the skills of ice fishing, and discovered what it takes to run a ski resort. Dive into their experiences and see how hands-on learning came to life!

Adventure is closer than you think.

Project Week adventures range from on-campus experiences to travels abroad, offering students various opportunities to explore and learn. There is always a no-cost project available, while others may have expenses, but we strive to make participation as accessible as possible.

The Nancy B. Tieken Fund ensures that financial barriers never stand in the way of exploration, opening the door for students to take their Project Week beyond campus. Whether it's discovering a new city, engaging in hands-on research, or embarking on a once-in-a-lifetime experience abroad, this fund makes it possible. Each year, nearly 50 students received a grant award, allowing them to take full advantage of these transformative opportunities.
