New Hampton took to the road on Wednesday afternoon for a Lakes Region League matchup with Vermont Academy. The first half saw the Huskies struggle to break through the Vermont Academy defense and to get by the strong play of the opposing goalkeeper.
Coming back out for the second half, the Huskies would start off with a stronger sense of urgency, threatening forward early on. As the half continued, New Hampton's pressure eventually paid off as Teagan Hurley '25 won a battle in the corner before crossing the ball to Kaylie Reeve '26 who forced the Vermont Academy keeper into another save where Ava Perry '27 was ready to pounce on the rebound for her first goal of the season.
The Husky pressure would pay off again as Reeve won the ball on top of the Vermont Academy box where she was able to convert for her third goal of the season. New Hampton's defense would then get in on the action with Addyson Peel '26 converting the corner kick from fellow center back Heidi Smith '26. The scoring would be capped off with another goal from the defense as Fia Swormstedt '26 would beat her defender down the line and around the corner before firing home a near post goal to cap the scoring at 4-0.
New Hampton hits the road again on Friday evening for another Lakes Region matchup at Proctor Academy.
