The Huskies took to the field on Saturday afternoon with an abundance of energy, setting the tone for an exciting game. With spirits high and plenty of singing in the locker room, the team was fired up and delivered a sharp, focused warm-up.
From the opening whistle, the Huskies established momentum, taking control of the game and keeping the pressure on Winsor’s defense. Although Winsor put up a strong fight, managing to generate some offensive pressure, the Huskies dominated possession and kept the ball in their offensive end.
Goalkeeper Mary-Ann was tested with a few solid shots in the first three quarters but made several fantastic saves to keep Winsor off the board. At the other end of the field, Winsor’s goalie was equally impressive, making key dives and challenging the Huskies' attack. However, the team quickly adapted, recognizing that basic shots wouldn’t beat her. By crashing the net for rebounds and lifting shots over the goalie, the Huskies found their rhythm.
The goals came from Lola '26, Julia '25 (3), and Emma '27, securing a commanding 5-0 lead for the Huskies. As the game progressed, many players had the opportunity to contribute, and Luna stepped into the goal for the final quarter. She handled the shots she faced with poise, though Winsor managed to sneak one past her late in the game, resulting in a final score of 5-1 in the Huskies' favor.
It was a great all-around team effort. Well done, Huskies!
