Huskies get their first win of the season in thrilling comeback.
New Hampton traveled to Hamilton, Massachusetts to face a tough Evergreen League opponent, Pingree School. The game was a battle with the lead changing hands 4 times in the game. The game came down to a 4th quarter drive by the Huskies culminating in a 3-yard touchdown run by senior running back Ethan Middleton, with less than a minute to play. The defense would play a huge role in stopping a powerful Highlander running game that racked up 244 yards. Middleton and Kyle Romanek would rush for 306 yards in the game and Middleton would have three touchdowns. Mark Belcher would open the game by catching a 62 yard pass by quarterback Charlie Kaikow. The defense was led by Romanek, Jayden Terrell and Jan Kruger. Kruger would also block a punt in the 4th quarter leading to the score that would tie the game. The Huskies return home to face Portsmouth Abby next Saturday at 2 pm.
