In a thrilling display of teamwork and skill, the Huskies secured a 10-3 victory against the Tilton Rams. Every healthy player contributed on the field, making it a fun and memorable game.
Right from the first whistle, the Huskies took control, keeping the ball in the offensive zone. Four minutes into the game, a corner from Kennedy Walker set up Reagan for a tip-in, marking the first goal of the game. Barely a minute and a half later, Julia Loughlin fired a powerful shot past Tilton's goalie, putting the Huskies up 2-0.
Tilton responded with an offensive break, creating a 4v2 situation, and managed to get a goal past goalie Mary-Ann, who otherwise had a strong game in net. Despite the brief momentum shift, the Huskies bounced back quickly. Kennedy Walker scored her first of the game, followed by a tip-in from Lola Gallo off another Kennedy shot, making it 4-1. Just 20 seconds later, Lola netted her second goal, putting the Huskies in a commanding 5-1 lead after the first quarter.
The second quarter saw the Huskies maintain their dominance, although the scoreboard stayed the same. Key contributions came from Tricia Carr, Kaya Farnsworth, and Riley Proulx, who all got valuable minutes and made strong plays on both ends of the field.
In the second half, the Huskies showed their flexibility by playing in new positions, a challenge they met with ease. Kennedy and Kaya scrapped in front of the net early in the third quarter, resulting in another goal for the Huskies. Kennedy soon added her second goal, and Cara Kuczek followed with a well-earned goal after strong midfield work. Ryley Chipman, Brooke King, and Emily Finn provided a burst of energy off the bench, helping the team maintain momentum.
The fourth quarter brought even more excitement. The Huskies were determined to give some newer scorers a chance, and they nearly succeeded with efforts from Kaya, Brooke, and Maddie Lacroix. Lily Thomas, however, stole the show with two late goals—one five minutes in, and another with just 18 seconds left on the clock.
With about four minutes remaining, Tilton earned a penalty stroke after a strong offensive push and a foul behind the goalie. Luna, facing her first ever in-game stroke, held her ground well, but Tilton was able to score off the stroke, bringing the score to 9-2. Tilton added one more goal with just a minute remaining, but the Huskies closed out the game strong, and Lily’s second goal secured the final 10-3 score.
It was a full team effort, with standout performances from everyone on the field. The Huskies now look forward to preparing for their upcoming game against Holderness, carrying this momentum into Friday’s game before a well-deserved long weekend.
Great job, Huskies!
