Huskies Beat Phillips Andover in Thrilling OT Win

The Huskies hosted Phillips Andover Academy and won in thrilling victory 3-2. The game was back and forth with each team making plays all over the ice. 

With the Huskies down 2-0, Johnny Niemela '26 scored an unassisted goal after Brody Merrick '26 forechecked hard which caused the Andover goalie to turn the puck over. Late in the third period, Jack Mombourquette '25 scored (assisted by Ray MacDougall '26 and Dylan Podergois '26) to tie the game at 2-2. The game would the head to overtime. 

During the overtime period, the Huskies came out firing and capitalized on the first shift. Connor Pierson '25 rimmed a puck below the goal line where teammate Mombourquette '25 received it and made a quick pass to Luke Gerardi '25 in the high slot. Gerardi's initial shot was saved but his second chance follow up beat the netminder for the game winner. 

Sam Zygulski '26 was strong in net making 26 saves on 28 shots against for the win.
