Huskies Celebrate Senior Day and Coach Bavaro's 100th Win
Five Huskies finished in double-figures today as New Hampton outmatched Winchendon in a 83-36 victory on Senior Day.
Parents came from near (Nashua, NH) and far (Puerto Rico & CA) to cheer for their soon-to-be graduating daughters in their final regular-season game. Four-year seniors Tahlia Pena, Adriana Hernandez, and Aniyaha Perez, as well as 2-year senior Kitt Jones, received some well-deserved love and appreciation before today's tip-off.
Our seniors shined on and off the court today. Pena hit three 3-pointers en route to a 15 point-performance. Hernandez pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds and dished 5 assists, while netting 7 points. Jones finished with 2 points, 7 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 assist, and a block. And Manager Perez did an amazing job with the scorebook, per usual.
Other players in double-figures were Elyse Ngenda (17), Serenity Lancaster (16), Ava Perry (11), and Casey Stores (10).
After the game, the players showered Coach Bavaro with water and love to celebrate her 100th win as a head coach at New Hampton School. Well done, Coach!
New Hampton earned the #4 seed in the upcoming New England Prep School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Class AAA tournament. They will face 5th-seeded Hoosac School on Wednesday (time and location TBD). The two teams split in the regular-season.
