The Women’s Varsity Tennis team traveled to Proctor. It was a chilly spring day, but everyone was happy to compete on the courts. The singles matches resulted in two out of six wins for New Hampton. Sol Anderson easily dispatched her opponent in second singles, and freshman Helen Xu won a tiebreaker to win her match in sixth singles. Paula Riemann and Mira Omur also played well but lost in close matches. Next week, we will have to work hard to develop our doubles teams. Proctor’s doubles played together last year and so had a definite advantage since our doubles players still need time to form chemistry. I think Proctor will see a much improved Husky team when we play later this season.
