The Huskies dropped their first game (8-1) of the season in the AAA (3-1) and NEBL (2-1) matchup vs. Newman. The Cardinals and Huskies traded shots in the first half, and both teams went on strong runs. Ended up being a 4 point deficit for the Huskies heading into the half.
In the second half, the Huskies went cold, and could not find a way to generate simple offense. We had some breakdowns late that led to open looks for Newman and they capitalized on them. The Huskies made a late run to get a 19 point deficit down to 11 late. The Huskies forced some turnovers, but it just wasn't enough.
The Huskies had had 3 in double figures, Keyshuan Tillery (26 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists), Naz Meyer (16 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists), Mason Blackwood (13 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists). Chad Cook (8 points and 6 rebounds) and Ty Tabales (7 points) made contributions on the stat sheet.
