The New Hampton Varsity B team returned home Friday night after a tough loss to a good Brewster squad. Early, the Huskies struggled to contain Hyde's inside drives, and Hyde jumped out to a 24-7 lead. New Hampton responded, however, and Jackson Flanders led a charge to cut the lead to just 8 at halftime. The second half was a battle, and New Hampton played their best game of the year despite the loss. With two minutes remaining, the lead was just four. New Hampton had two key possessions, but a foul and a turnover doomed the comeback bid. Despite the loss, this game marked a definite moment of growth for the team as they move into the homestretch and try to make the playoffs.
