New Hampton fell to NMH, 44-49, in Game 2 of the Nickerson Holiday Tournament. Sophomore Ava Perry scored a bucket off the opening tip and the Huskies maintained the lead until the final seconds of today's contest. Elyse Ngenda hit a deep 2 from the corner with 2:04 left in the game to give NHS a 5-point advantage, but those would prove to be the final points for New Hampton. NMH took advantage of some late-game miscues by the Huskies and scored three consecutive baskets giving them a 1-point lead with 31 ticks left on the clock. New Hampton was forced to foul to get the ball back and the Hoggers took advantage of the situation going 4-for-4 from the free throw line to seal the deal.
Perry shot the ball with confidence and had a team-high 12 points for New Hampton. Serenity Lancaster '26 was the only other Husky in double-figures with 11 while pulling down 6 rebounds. Ngenda ended with 9 points and 5 assists.
New Hampton falls to 6-1 and will face Nobles, a formidable opponent and tournament host, on Sunday at 2pm.
