Huskies Draw vs Holderness

In the second game of their five-game home stand, the Huskies took on a strong Holderness side on Kennedy Field. New Hampton would start the game well, pushing forward and pressuring the Holderness backline early on.
Facing the strong counter attack from Holderness, the backline of Gianna Young '27, Addyson Peel '26, Heidi Smith '26, and Fia Swormstedt '26 did well to maintain their composure and shape when winning the ball back and playing forward, while Zuri Jimenez '28 helped to shut down the Holderness attack in the build-up stage with strong play from the midfield.

The Huskies would break the deadlock with 14 minutes remaining in the half on a free kick from 20 yards out that Smith would slot home over the keeper for her second goal of the season. The New Hampton attack would keep the Holderness keeper busy for the rest of the half, but ultimately go into halftime with a 1-0 advantage.

The second half would again see the two teams evenly matched with Holderness looking for the equalizer. Goalkeeper Danika Virgin '26 did well to keep the Bulls off the scoreboard with 15 minutes remaining as she came off her line quickly to stifle a close range effort. A minute later a shot from short range off of a cross would beat the New Hampton backline to even up the score at 1-1.

New Hampton pushed forward looking to regain their lead and tested the Holderness backline and goalkeeper, but they were not able to score a second and would finish the game level at 1-1.
