New Hampton took to Kennedy Field on Saturday afternoon for a Lakes Region League rematch with Proctor Academy looking to avenge an early season loss.
The Huskies would start off well with strong pressure going forward. Fifteen minutes in, New Hampton would get on the board after Fia Swormstedt '26 beat her defender to the line to put a strong cross into the box. Adriana Hernandez '25 battled for the ball in the box before spinning towards goal to fire her shot low and past the Proctor goalkeeper for her second of the season.
The remainder of the half would see the two teams evenly matched, with the New Hampton defense doing well to contain the speedy Proctor attack. Strong play in the midfield allowed the Huskies to keep Proctor at bay and take the 1-0 lead into the half.
New Hampton would come out strong for the second half looking to extend their lead. The two teams would again be evenly matched, but the Husky defense would maintain their lead with strong play from the backline and an important and timely save from Danika Virgin '26 against an onrushing Proctor attacker.
Elizabeth Vincent '27 would double New Hampton's lead off of an Addyson Peel '26 corner kick that she would convert with an overhead kick that found the back of the net. The Huskies would stay strong for the remainder of the game and finish with a 2-0 win and their fifth shutout of the season.
