Huskies Fall Short in Tilton Rematch
The Huskies were better at the plate in the Tilton rematch, scoring 4 runs, but couldn't keep up with the Rams on Monday. Seven players connected for hits. Sarah Pollard '27, Ellie Zink '27, MacKenzie Mercer '27, Luna McCulloch '26, and Adriana Hernandez '25 all singled in the game. Izabelle Chadwick '27 hit a ball to center field, backing the fielder up to the fence for a double, and Abby Schrader '27 connected to deep right for a triple. Abby, Adriana, Izabelle and Luna each collected 1 RBI on the day.
On the mound Liv Sabin '27 went 3 innings giving up 17 runs on 13 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 7. Ellie Zink '27 made her first appearance for the Huskies coming into pitch in the 4th inning. She made 2 of the Huskies outs that inning, striking out one and fielding a ground ball to the mound in a 1-3 play for the final out. The Husky defense was more consistent on the day, allowing no errors through the game.
Up next the Huskies take on Proctor at home on Wednesday. It will also be our senior game celebrating Julie Loughlin '24!
